The macOS can read NTFS, but can't write to it or otherwise alter its contents (rename files, delete files. Given that the Windows machine boots from the 2Tb SSD it is safe to assume that it is formatted NTfS. Is there a way I could just plug-and-play the 2TB drive into the enclosure and somehow convert the file system on this drive when it's plugged into the Mac? Or would I need to get a new SSD to do a "clean" transfer of the files only (mostly photo/video/music/documents)? My hope is that the Mac will be able to read the files I have on this drive now, and I'll be able to delete Windows OS related files to "clean up" the drive once I have it plugged into the Mac. I plan on getting an external enclosure or USB-C hub with a SSD enclosure built-in for the Mac Mini and would like to use my 2TB drive for that purpose. I believe I have the OS running off the 2TB drive right now, and most of my data is also on the 2TB drive. My current system is an older Dell desktop with a i5 chip from 2012, 1 x 500gb SSD + 1 x 2TB SSD (and plenty of RAM, but not important for this purpose). Hoping you can help me think through this.I'm considering purchase of an M2 Mini but am dreading the conversion of process from Windows based machine and files to Mac OS.
